Irons Brothers Productions is pleased to announce our newest project, "A Fly in the Champagne". The rivalry between Andy Irons and Kelly Slater has been one of folklore for a decade now. The two most influential surfers of all-time have had a much-publicized dislike for each other over the years. Irons Brothers Productions embarked on a two-week excursion to Indonesia with Andy and Kelly to capture what everyone thought could never happen, a trip together. What ensued was groundbreaking and captivating. Shot from land, boat, and water, Irons Brothers Productions captured history. This project was shot solely on HD and film cameras. With co-sponsoring from Billabong®, Quiksilver®, ESPN® and Transworld Surf®, there is no doubt that this will be a highly successful project.

The Nike SB Dunk High "Quagmire" is rumored to be inspired from the sex-crazed bachelor Glenn Quagmire, from the cartoon series Family Guy.

The "Quagmire" Dunks feature the same colors as the character's clothing, even down to the star pattern on the uppers, which is the same pattern on Quagmire's shirt. With the popularity of the cartoon, it would be an awesome partnership for both Nike SB and Family Guy. We can only wait and see if the rest of the characters get their own Dunk. I can only imagine the potential craziness. What character would have the best colorway?

We first featured this pair of Nike SB Dunk Low Premium's back in December, and they have been highly anticipated ever since. They are actually a collaboration with Brooklyn Projects. The colorway has officially been labeled halo / zitron which basically consists of a vibrant color palette of blue, green, yellow, and beige. The white midsole is a classic feature of Nike Dunks, while the gum rubber bottom is adored by fanatics.

"Triumvir" Dunk MID
So here's a brief background check for your reading pleasure. Also being dubbed the "Shanghai", the latest release from Nike SB is the latest collaboration with Brandon Cheng and Brian Cheng and their brand Triumvir. The Mid was inspired by a Beijing natives perspective of their own city. The design and concept of the shoe details the cities congested highways, traffic, dust, love for noodles, Tienanmen Square, and the capital of China.

Nike SB Dunk High "Twin Peaks" Black/Black

They are finally here. Being deemed the "TWIN PEAKS" PREMIUM HIGHS, the dunk pays tribute to the short lived Twin Peaks cult TV program which aired on ABC from 1990-1991 by creator and producer David Lynch. Inspired by the show's ficticious "Black Lodge", the dunk features premium leather, suede, nubuck, and a synthetic upper. The clear rubber sole symbolizes the mysterious murder of the shows character Laura Palmer, wrapped and found in plastic, while the blue owl signifies the entrance to the Black Lodges paranormal dimension of good and evil. The interior is lined in red with a zig-zag pattern insole representing the "Red Rooms" curtains and geometric carpet.

Its been a minute since we've had a chance to write an update on the latest happenings here at Special Sauce. With the holiday crunch in full swing, our fam and staff have been dedicated to holding it down at both of our locations in Bayshore.

Now, for those that woke up late- Yes, the dissemination of information is true. With close to nearly a 15 year savory recipe, our gastronomer's have concocted our third master creation with the opening of our newest store front in the heart of Huntington Village. Since opening our doors three and a half weeks ago, its safe to say that most of us have been left in a haze. While change is always a motivating challenge, the support of our existing and growing clientele make for a new chapter in the Sauce movement.

Located an hour by train outside of NYC, the 3,600 sq.ft. space maintains its rooted foundation in street, skate, and snow. Emphasis will be placed on more limited and emerging street wear brands, with a growing selection included for the ladies. In the spring of 2009, our second floor will open up to a loft style space to showcase a variety of rotating artist showings, brand collaborations, pre-line viewing, and additional office space.

In the meantime...

If you haven't cruised over to Huntington, no worries. Here are a few images that will peak your curiosity . There's still much work to be done, but we're off to a bright start. NIKE SB- SPORT RED/WHITE DUNK HIGH PREMIUM

Straight out the box and just in time for some holiday cheer, comes their latest premium dunk release. With much speculation and depending on what blogs and sites you frequent, they are being referred to as the "Santa Claus" or the "Big Gulp". You decide for yourselves. They will drop tomorrow, and will release at both our Bayshore and Huntington locations. Available in select sizes from 6-13 Men.

Rumored to have initially been released as the Michelangelo, has been officially deemed the Mosquito Dunk. The SB Low is an assortment of materials which include a vanilla and black leather color-way. The upper has a red patent swoosh, dark green suede, reflective 3M, and speckled contrast midsole. Detail has also been given to the insole, which contains the mosquito graphic holding a Nike SB blood soaked sock.

As part of the Nike SB Superhero/Villain Pack comes the Spiderman and Venom release. The "Spiderman" Dunk is spot on with the official Marvel comics color way consisting of a vibrant blue upper with red contrast leather, and black swoosh.

Nike SB has collaborated once again with skate graphic artist and photographer Todd Bratrud to produce his latest signature skate high since the "Send Help" release. The Quickstrike release features a brown suede upper, with fuschia patent leather swoosh and trim, and blue denim canvas on the rear.

Oakley has recruited Andrew Petterson to create 50 hand painted Frogskins as an extension of their Artist Series program. Here are a few images of them. This project is special in a sense that all 50 are unique and numbered by the artist and to celebrate that, Oakley will be teaming up with BLENDS in Costa Mesa to host an event in which all 50 will be present and accounted for, and this will be the only time that all of them will be available for viewing before being allocated to the 25 stores lucky enough to receive them, Special Sauce is one of them. The sunglasses will be packaged in all black, including the protective bag that accompanies all Frogskins, to maintain the mystery of what one will be getting for their purchase.

Just in the first hit of the new Nike Snowboard Boots. Not only has Nike entered the Snowboard market once again, they invested in some heavy snowboarders to back them up. Among the five other team members that will be on the Nike squad is two time Olympic competitor Danny Kass. Joining him will be Louie Vito, Annie Boulanger, Justin Benee, Eric Jackson and Laura Hadar.

Nike is known for making comfortable footwear and their boots will be no exception. They are designed with a skate style appeal and if as much focus goes into these boots as Nike puts into their running shoes you should get yourself a pair.

Nike September Quickstrike just arrived.

Nike has finally dropped the Nike Dunk High Premium Shoe Goo which is based on Shoe Goo, a glue product used in skating. They feature uppers in coated canvas and crinkled patent leather and a cool clear gum midsole. You can now get these at Special Sauce.

The featured black and cappuccino P-Rod 2 High which recently released in Mexico has just started to hit a few select shops stateside as a quickstrike. The shoes feature a brand new Fall friendly colorway in Paul Rodriguez's newer high top silhouette. The upper features a mix of brown and black suede and mesh materials. The mid sole is black and off set by the ever popular gum out soles. Each pair of P-Rod 2 Zoom Air High quickstrikes come with a pair of white and black laces.

Although not officially named the Nike Dunk Mid - Tokyo, everyone in the Nike SB community can't help but comparing them to the Nike Dunk Low SB - Tokyo. The Nike Dunk SB Low - Pro SB Tokyo was released as a part of Nike's "White Cities Series." The official shoe of the 2004 Tokyo White Dunk Exhibit, they were limited to 202 pairs, and were only sold through lottery. Being one of the more philosophical Dunks, the Nike on the heel was missing on purpose. Will these be the continuation of what was started in 2004? We will have to wait and find out. Just arrived, the Nike Dunk SB Low a part of the BMX Pack represents the Kuwahara bike which is seen in the movie "E.T". Just like the Kuwahara BMX Bike, the Nike Dunk SB Low contains Red to White gradient, and a patent leather toe box.

The wicked genius of Frank Kozik single-handedly revived the lost art of the concert poster. His recent work includes vinyl toys for Kidrobot®, including demented characters such as The Smorkin' Labbit, Comandante Rojo and Kozik Mao. Now Kozik has turned Oakley HijinxT into a fiendish satire of authoritarianism, jingoism and a few more "-isms" we'd have to look up. Good luck to anyone trying to define his brilliantly twisted view of the universe. We just know an electroshock of creativity when we see one, and it won't be long before this masterpiece sells out.

This Dunk is based on the Newcastle Brown Ale, the colors of the Newcastle logo and even the ale is used in the colors of this Dunk Low SB. An additional set of red laces also come with the package.

The Nike Dunk Pro SB Mid - Asbury Casino is inspired by the Casino located in Asbury Park, New Jersey. It was a well known skate park, which unfortunately is no longer there, so these were dubbed the Asbury Casinos in order to pay homage to the park. They feature a black, gold, and sea green colorway.

Imagine this: Two skateboarding gangs battle each other for shoe supremacy, and a member of one gang falls in love with the sister's feet of his rival. Foot fetish, sounds cool? Yeah...Well, this shoe comes directly inspired from the 80's skate movie, 'THRASHIN'. Designed as a high, this shoes has got ripping style writen all over it. Are you gnarley ? Well then?

Nike SB Dunk Low Mondrian Zest/Black
Piet Mondrian was born in 1872 in The Netherlands. He studied in Amsterdam from 1892 to 1895, and then began painting on his own. Most of his early works were landscapes. In 1909 he began a series of paintings of trees, in which he developed an increasingly abstract style. He moved to Paris in 1912, where he was influenced by the cubist painters. As the years went by, he began to formulate his own aesthetic theories. The style he developed he called neoplasticism. In the early 1900's, many artists were trying various abstract ways of representing reality. Mondrian went further ... in his later compositions, he avoided any suggestion of reproducing the real world. Instead, using horizontal and vertical black lines that outline blocks of pure white, red, blue or yellow, he expressed his conception of 'ultimate harmony and equilibrium'.

Hiroshi Fujiwara designed these P-Rod 2 which he named theFuji Rod. They feature his name on the tongue and the black dotted portion is made of 3M reflective material. New Nike SB releases for May Just arrived.

The "Ferris Buellers" is inspired by the jacket/vest combo worn by Matthew Broderick, Ferris Bueller, in the movie and on the movie poster. The "Ferris Bueller" Nike Dunk SB Hi features a White/Creme/Grey/Black upper with a Cheetah print liner.

The second one is inspired by 720 Degrees, or 720°, which is a 1986 arcade skateboarding game by Atari Games. It is notable in that it is the first extreme sports video game, and has a unique timed structure that requires the player score points in order to keep the game going.

He was played by the popular "bodyguard to the stars" Mr. T, who was 25 years old when the film was launched. The character is based on George Foreman in his early career, the colorway of the sneaker is based off of his trunks and belt.

Just Arrived...Nike SB BO ROD HI designed by Sandy Bodecker. Based on the P-Rod this one comes as a high-top sneaker in all black with white details. There are very detailed embroideries all over the sneaker, white swoosh and a quilted satin inner lining.

The "GOLD" Trainer II and the Abington arrived today also.

Nike SB Dunk Low "Skate or Die" based on the 1980's classic video game is in stock now.

A new pair of the Nike P-Rod IIs has just been released which features a "St. Valentine's Day Massacre" like design. Black and Dark Red are the two main colors used for the P-Rod II and there are blood spots on the toe box and at the middle of the shoe.

2. The Deck dunk high premium SB: The theme for this is a skate deck: the tan and brown rep the plys in a deck, with green as a pop color to signify the middle ply color.

3. Zoom Classic SB: solid colorway: black suede, violet swoosh, tan sole.
4. Zoom Tre: The last of the crackle prints; look for the premium apparel to tie in to this...
